I bought a costume from an ebay seller but realised that I'd used the wrong card. Is there anyway to cancel the order so that I can repurchase it with the correct card? Item not perfect, but no returns...what can I do?

I bought a mug from a seller, who described it as Used - in perfect condition. It isn't. The mug is stained and discoloured inside with, I assume, tea stains and also has brown marks on the base. The seller described her policy on returns as "No returns accepted". Does this policy apply even if the item is not as she described it?

I have been watching an item, ready to make a bid, as it was listed as auction only. However, the seller has ended the auction early after a discussion posted on the item page which incudes the question "do you have a buy it now price" and the answer "make me an offer". Is this against e-bay policy as its fairly clear the item ended early after the seller accepted an offer to buy? I cannot find any way to report this activity which I find unfair to other e-bay users who are content to go about the usual process of bidding. Any one know how I can report/complain about this?

As a relative newcomer to ebay I am quite annoyed that 2 items I brought, one in Aug and the latter in Oct,haven't turned up yet. I know there are postal strikes all over the country and the big one is yet to come. Am I missing something here, do buyers have no protection, how do I get my money back. In future should I refrain from using paypal and wait till I receive goods before paying? The item that I brought in Aug I don't think I'll ever get, the seller is not interested as he has proof of selling and has my money. For the latest item I am still waiting the 15 day period before I go back to the seller. I was enjoying selling and buying on ebay but from these experiences Its put me off.

Hello. I was bidding on an item and got an email from ebay to say that the listing was cancelled, and that I could view the reason under the bid history. I'm not sure if I'm on the correct site, but can someone help me with this problem please.A few weeks ago I bid on an item and won. Unfortunately, I did not receive the item so I emailed the seller who quite frankly was not too polite! After several emails back and forth she very reluctantly paid the money back into my PayPal account. A few weeks later I received an email from her saying that she had received the item back from Royal Mail and that it had been sitting in the Collection Office after the Royal Mail had posted cards through my letterbox. I explained to her that I had not received any cards from Royal Mail and that I was surprised because all the posties and delivery people know me very well due to the amount of my ebay buying. I asked if she would let me buy the item again, to which I have not even had the courtesy of a reply. I went back on the said ebay site and noticed that the item had been relisted. I put in a bid but when I was asked to confirm the bid, I had been barred from the site!! Where do I stand regarding this matter. Should I report her to ebay or should I just suffer the fact that this woman can pick and choose whom she wants to barr from her ebay site?

I bought and paid for an item using Paypal however before I have received it ebay have sent me an email saying the listing has been removed because it is in breach of their policy and I do not have to pay for the item. If I have paid they suggest I reverse the payment or ask the seller for a refund. I have emailed the seller with no real hope of a reply as looking at his feedback buyers are complaining he ignores all emails. Where do I go from here. How do I reverse the payment and if I can not do this will I get a refund from Paypal if the item does not turn up.

What are the Ebay rules on this? I was outbid on an item a week ago (3rd highest bidder), but received a message from Ebay to tell me that I was being offered the chance to buy for my highest bid. The comment from the seller stated that a friend had placed the highest bid, but didn't want the item any more. I accepted and paid through Paypal. The Ebay message against the item then said I'd bought the item. Now my payment has been returned, with the comment that the seller had simultaneously offered to the 2nd highest bidder, and they had accepted.

Hi Have been selling for a while now on ebay and never put anything on that I would not want to bay myself. Recently put a pair of SKINNY JEANS SIZE 10 ON and some new ebayer bidded for them! had to pay me by ebay cheque even though I had said by paypal only and I had to wait for the cheque to clear. When it cleared sent the parcel 1st class not 2nd class lost 14p but felt she had been waiting and as I am kind sent them. Today got an email asking if she could return them and refund the money as they did not fit her!! and had I tumble dryed them??? Firstly they are SKINNY JEANS and the other item she has brought on ebay was a size 12!! and I do not even own a tumble dryer!!! I list no returns on my adverts!!! As I do not want to get bad feedback although I have done nothing wrong I have emailed her back and said could she post it back to me first class and I will refund the jean money but not the postage!!! Hi, I won an item from a German seller who doesn't accept PayPal, but prefers a bank transfer (as is usually the case in German listings). The invoice specifies the seller's bank and account number, only since it is an international transaction, I need the IBAN and BIC codes. I have tried to contact the seller repeatedly about this, but four days after the sale there has still been no response. I do want the item very much and don't want to risk an unpaid item strike, so I really want to effect the transaction as soon as possible. Once I have paid, it would of course take a number of days yet before the money is actually credited to the seller's German account. I found an online IBAN/BIC calculator that seems to generate formally correct codes, would it be reasonably safe to make the payment immediately based on those? I'd be grateful for any advice. TIA!

Afternoon everybody.After buying a rare ps1 game, the item arrived in a terrible state. Badly scratched disc and case smashed in two. The seller would not budge on a partial refund even though I gave him positive feedback, (very naive I know).I entered into a SNAD dispute and sent it back with tracking and gave this number to paypal. They then asked for further proof and I had to fax a copy of the postal receipt/claim number etc to them too. More hassle.I have logged in today and the case is now closed (in the sellers favour) saying the tracking was invalid. I've triple checked everything and all is correct. The only thing is, it is stating he hasn't yet signed for it, but if he does after receiving a paypal email which he will, he's going to sign and keep the game and my money (12.00)!!I've been on ebay for just over a year, (mostly selling), and this is the first claim I've had to do....and it's gone belly up!! Hi This is the first time I've bought anything on ebay and the seller wants me to pay through an ebay agent. ebay contacted me and gave me the agents details and said they would hold the money until I have recieved the goods and am happy with them and then release the money to the seller. The seller doesn't respond to any of my emails I've sent him in different ways but he is active on ebay (I see his new listings every week). I've even opened a case in the resolution center. All this process took more than 45 days and now I realized I can do nothing against the seller, even cannot leave him a negative feedback for this transaction. Now I left without item, money and ability to do something. I think the Buyer Protection program on ebay sucks.

Hello there!I was watching a coat.I read all the description page and shipping fees(30$),i checked the measurements and since everything was ok i bought it and unfortunately as always i payed for it immediately. 20 minutes after, the seller mails me saying :"hi,your good (item number) actual color and the picture are different, pls check.."And it had some links that i copy-paste them to see the item. In my suprise, i see that the pink-wooled coat was a red different material coat and even the fur was different!!I immediately sent him that i want a refund cos i didnt payed for that. He said ok. Today its the second day and mailed him about the refund and he told me :"We already sent for the factory to order, will have the news very quickly, for on yours affirmation and picture entirely alike, if you will want, will ask the patience to wait for 2-3 days". I sent him that the items r different but i'll wait 2-3 days.I just wanted to ask DOES REFUND HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FACTORY?Or he's making fun of me???Plz answer cos its the first and i dont know if he's lying or not.thank u

Whenever I insert a significantly higher bid than that already entered, even down to the very last second, the immediate response is that I have been outbid by an incredible few pence. No-one could have possibly manually rebid in the timescale nor could have 'guessed' to have outbid by such a tiny margin. Yet, had there been any chance to increase one's own bid yet further, Ebay demands a full 1.00 GBP increase, not by a mere few pence as by the supposed 'winning bid'. Can some 'specially privileged' people 'see' a prospective bid even when typed into the initial dialogue box, even before it is submitted and then confirmed???Kindly advise how this situation persistently arises, since it appears as of now that it represents a simple waste of my time using Ebay when the system appears automatically to be able to over-ride any genuine open bid with some behind-the-counter automated counter-bid.

Hi all,I've bought an item but not recieved it, even though seller has tried (twice!) to send it to me. To explain- I had bought said item but requested it go to an address other than that stated via Paypal- adding a note on Paypal and emailing seller (via Ebay) to request she send to new address. She agreed to this, but then sent to wrong address anyway. I couldn't collect the item from the delivery address and it was returned to her. After this I then requested that the item be sent again and to a third address, and also requested that she confirmed this was OK and would definately check she was writing the correct address onto the package! She then sent the item again, but immediately after sending emailed me Paypal confirmation showing it went to wrong address!! I am also unable to collect/have item re-directed but now don't want to bother a third delivery, but would rather try for a refund. Of course, after the 45 day period has ended, this might be difficult to sort out and Ebay seem completely unable to take the above circumstances into account and cancel their 45 day rule to start the resolution process, in this case. Anyway, I'm not really sure what I can do here, but one end result is, during any future transaction, I think I'll have to treat all Ebay sellers the same and make sure all instructions are amazingly easy to follow!! I'm not sure that, even for really busy sellers, things can get all that complicated, but my scenario surely cant be too testing??! Oh, I should say that, after contacting Ebay customer support, they said they could reverse the Paypal transaction once I'd advised them of all the above- but so far no email to confirm/the Paypal transaction screen shows not change. I contacted the seller immediately explaining and asking if the either the invoice could be sent to my account or email or could he relist the item and send me the link and i'd buy it straight away. I received a very blunt email telling me that i could retract my bid but they weren't prepared to do anything else as they were new to ebay and didn't want to get into anything they didn't know about and they would be charged double for re enlisting. Does anyone else think they are taking this too far?Having worked in retail management for 14 years, I have to point out that customers are NOT entitled to a refund just because they have changed their mind or don't like how it looks once they get it home. I have been bidding on a few toys for my young Son and throughout the bids I have been the top bidder, the majority of the time I have been at work when the bidding has ended and returned from work to find I had been outbid. Today however I was off and sat at the computer to witness the end of bid. Up until the final minute I was still the highest bidder then a higher bid was posted. I was asked to up my bid by a certain amount which I did on a few occassions, but still this was unsuccessful. I realise that e-bay don't inform you of rival maximum bids but surely if they are entering bids on bidders behalfs they shouldn't wait until the dying seconds to submit a higher bid. It is extremely annoying.

I bought a BMW car for 955pounds, the seller said the car will get back from garage after a week from bid ending. He wanted payment by paypal but I offered cash on collection when he refused I told him I can pay him 200 deposit by paypal till he gets the car to secure my purchase which again he refused so I ended up paying the full 955, because of the amount paid paypal had to review paymwnt and withing 3 days its was authorised and given to seller. I got email from paypal confirming payment authorised and seller advised to ship the item, however the seller immediately refuded the payment stating he was told by paypal its not safe. he requested to cancel the transaction and I refused. then left him negative feedback he emailed me threatening me to take legal action for defemation on my negative feedback I called ebay to remove the word fraudlent from the feedback but ebay told me its not possible i can only change it to positive feedback which i refused and then I was told not to worry as its honest feedback. Then I called paypal to confirm the transcation was safe and I was informed that if the transaction was nto safe it would not have been authorised and stated that the account is in good standing and the seller should have shipped the item.so i left the feedback and forgot the matter today I got a letter from seller saying he intend to take legal action for defemation so I thought to myself if thats the case I should also make a claim for breach of contract of sale what do you think?Thanks

I have been trading on eBay on and off for about 7 years and nowadays, my auctions vary in popularity. I had started clicking the box for keeping bidders ID hidden but some different topics on here have different opinions on whether this is a good idea or not. We all know eBay keeps moving the goalposts on their rules/guidelines etc and not always for the better, certainly in my opinion, making it harder for legitimate sellers like myself.I thought keeping bidders IDs hidden from other bidders stops them from getting hassled by other people who are selling the same item and offering them their own item cheaper?Would be interested to see what other people think, any thoughts on whether this hidden ID stops or encourages people from bidding, or does it make me look suspicious?

I won an auction the other night (09 Sep, 200921:44:25 BST) and was hoping for a speedy delivery before I move address. However the item has still not been despatched and I know it's only been a day or so but with every passing day it looks less likely I'll receive the item in time. Hi, my husband purchased a touchscreen phone a few weeks ago and has had nothing but trouble with the seller ever since. On opening the parcel, hubby noticed that the phone back was broken. The seller then sent a replacement back cover which was also broken. As we were getting nowhere fast, we requested a refund (less our own postage fees) but the seller refused outright to refund the money. Hubby decided against going down the e-bay complaints route and e-mailed the seller (who, in all honesty, appeared to have little knowledge of the English language by the way he worded his e-mails) and confirmed that we would just leave things as they were, and put it down to experience.Thinking the matter was done and dusted, my husband then left neg feedback for the seller due to his lack of consideration and poor customer service. We then noticed that the seller had had the neg removed. We phoned e-bay helpline to try to find out why the neg had been taken off, only to be told that they could not tell us as it was a different department who would deal with it. Does anyone know how someone could get a neg removed without e-bay even approaching the buyer to see why it was given in the first place? Thanks in advance.

How do you report an item not received?

Hi,has the option to report an item not received been removed now? I've clicked on the drop down menu on the leave feedback option and it says report a problem.When I do this I only get the option to contact seller(which I have) or to ring ebay on a number they give.Before when an item hasn't arrived I've dealt with throught the transaction page.I hate ringing ebay as they're never much help! I appologize if I am posting this to the wrong board - I am not sure which one to choose.I am in need of returning an item for an exchange, as the seller sent me the item in the wrong size. In contacting the seller, I was provided with a return address that does not include a name, only a unit #, street and city. It seems the return address is complete, except for the name. I've asked the seller for clarification on this.I also pulled the seller's contact info through eBay and find that the return address the seller gave me does not match the eBay contact info.The item will be returned with tracking, but I am uncertain about the two different addresses and would be grateful for any comments/advice on how to handle the address issue.Thanks.

i agreed to get refunded for an item an posted it back to the seller on the 20th of this month but stupidly i didnt do it by recorded delivery. I bidded on a jacket with size 40 on the ad and since its a UK site, i would think its EU40 but turns out that it is IT40 after i have placed a bid. I asked the seller politely to retract the bid and his answer is "if u are not sure dont't bid and if you are a size 12 u are too BIG" He uses caps and i think its just plain rudeness. I do not wish to go through this bid, is that possible?

Hi, recently I bought some shoes 160356027426 and seller didn't want to send them saying they were mangled by his dog without any proof(I asked fo a picture)he said they were already thrown away.I think it was due to low price I won.I declined seller's request to cancel the transaction and I reported the seller for breaking ebay rules for not completing the transaction. need some advice please!

hello, i recently bought some jeans of wich the leg length was misdescribed, they were listed as 30" long, when i tried them on they were conciderably too long so i measured them and they measure 32-32.5", there is no label on inside of them stating any length, also i have contacted seller about this and did`nt get a reply but then got a message from them about a week later saying hope you`ve received jeans and to leave feedback, wich suggests they may not have received my message, i`ve sent numerous mails since still with no reply, do i have a case for s.n.a.d. item?? and should i go through the resolution centre?? many thanks to whoever replies, regards, bo70four.

Hi folks, i was wondering if anyone could help me resolve a problem?I sold a mobile phone to a member on the 26th Aug, once the auction ended i promptly sent him an invoice.3 days later still no contact or payment was made so i sent another invoice with a note asking the person to contact me regarding the unpaid item.7 days later there was still no reply so i sent him a message saying if he made no attempt to contact me i would have no choice but to open an unpaid item dispute. He then contacted me saying he had found his old phone and no longer needed mines and would refund my relist fees, but the guy had won auctions for other phones (similar model to mines) after my auction ended and his feedback isn't the best.So what do i do?? should i open an unpaid item dispute? or do i accept his payment for relist fees? and if so how do i go about closing the deal with him?Sorry for the long winded post folks.Thanks in advanceScott

I was successful in purchasing a girls top which was listed as'unworn'. Now that I have received the item, it is quite clear thatthis top is second-hand and has been worn and washed. My husband bouht me this game [260467353764] which has turned out to be a copy on an sd card, have emailed him to say that we are not happy about this and have had a quite agressive reply, he has offered a begrudging refund if we return but could he accept the return and keep the money, plus why should we pay for the return when he has conned us. Hi,I won an auction for a motorbike last monday. The V5 was marked as present in the listing, but upon contacting the seller I was informed he was waiting for it to arrive from the DVLA. The story is he bought the bike off a friend who hadn't used it for a year. He has made it roadworthy and is selling it on, but no V5 yet. I have had it HPI checked by a friend in the motor trade and it comes up clean.He has promised to inform me when the V5 arrives but I've had no word yet after 10 days. HiI really don't know what to do-I bought courier service on ebay, and paid through paypal, arranged for it to be picked up today(Thursday 3rd sept) However, when I got home last night, I had a dhl attempted delivery notice through my door. I contacted DHL, but was advised I needed to contact the person I booked it from, which I have-only they are not replying to my emails. I have also noticed on the original confirmation email I got of them, it says if DHL turn up and theres no one home for collection, you will be charged for delivery all over again! But I did say I wanted it today, and that's what my original confirmation email says too, so it ist my fault.So what can I do next? Thanks in advance
