seller did not state size clearly

I bidded on a jacket with size 40 on the ad and since its a UK site, i would think its EU40 but turns out that it is IT40 after i have placed a bid. I asked the seller politely to retract the bid and his answer is "if u are not sure dont't bid and if you are a size 12 u are too BIG" He uses caps and i think its just plain rudeness. I do not wish to go through this bid, is that possible?
