GLASS CATFISH A GUIDE TO KEEPING AND FEEDING

The glass Catfish, sometimes known as the ghost fish (Kryptopterus bicirrhis) is an intresting addition to the freshwater tropical aquarium, preferring to be kept in groups of 8 or more, they prefer to have open swimming areas as well as planted areas in which to seek shelter.

The fish origionate from Sumatra, Java and Borneo and search for their food during daylight hours, in captivity they prefer to eat live food such a bloodworm, and daphnia. Newly hatched brine shrimp are an excellent, nutricianaloption for these and many other community fish. If such live food is not readily avaliable the glass catfish will soon take to quality dried foods such as freeze dried and flaked varietys.

These unique fish are full of character and will always be a discussion point being completely transparent, allowing anyone viewing the tank to see the internal "workings" of these fish. Their spinal colum, ribs, brains, stomachs and swim bladders are all clearly visable.

These fish will grow to a maximum of 8 - 10 cm in the aquarium, prefering a PH of 6 - 7.5, a temperature of 24 - 28oC and a hardness of 1 - 16 dH

How to Strengthen your Kicks for Martial Arts

I'm going to show you a kicking drill that is great for your legs.
This will give you more powerful kicks, higher kicks, faster kicks, and
better balance. All of which are essential for a well-rounded martial
artist. This drill doesn't take very long to do; and could even
be done right when you wake up or right before you go to bed. It
really doesn't matter when you do this exercise; just make sure you are
doing it every day.For this exercise, you are going to be going
through a series of slow kicks with each leg. You will do one leg and
then the other. Make sure to follow proper form on all of the kicks. Each
kick routine will be going through a series of steps. There will be a
starting position and an extended position. The motion from starting
to the extended position should be done very slowly. While
performing these kick routines, keep your guard up so you are always
ready to defend yourself. This is a good idea when practicing any
martial arts drills or movements.Proper form is essential to
allowing this exercise give you the greatest benefits. Make sure you
are following all the tips in the steps listed below. If you
find yourself losing your balance, find a wall or a staff to help you
keep your balance. Do not lean on the wall or staff as that will be
counter productive and not allow you to get the full benefits from
these exercises. If you would like more instruction on martial arts, check out thesemartial arts tutorials.Step 1: Front KickYou will start by bringing your knee up as high as you can in front of you.Hold this position for a slow count of five seconds (one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand, etc). After you are done holding this position, start to slowly extend your leg while keeping your knee in the same position. While extending your leg, try to keep your knee in the same position. This will give you the most strain on your quads. The full extension of your leg wont occur until after another slow five second count.Hold your leg straight out and in a fully extended front kick for another slow five second count. After you are done holding your kick, bring it back to your starting position in another slow five second count. Step 2: Side KickYou should already have your knee up as high as you can in front of you from step 1.Hold this position for a slow count of five seconds.Start to extend your leg to the side into a side-kick for a slow count of five seconds.Make sure to keep your kicking foot parallel to the ground.Do NOT stick out your butt to perform the side kick in order to get more height. Make sure to keep your upper body straight over your pivot foot; do NOT lean for the kick.Use only your leg muscles to raise the height of your kick. From
your head, through your shoulders, and to your heal of your pivot foot,
there should be a straight line. Make sure your kick is also in this
straight line. If you are not sure, watch yourself in the mirror to
make sure your entire body is in line.Another way to
ensure you have this form is to put your butt and shoulders up against
a wall and perform the kick perpendicular to the wall. This will keep
you inline with the wall. When you are extending your leg,
make sure your heal is following the line of your body; as your heal is
what you will be striking with for your side kick. You will
most likely not be able to kick very high; do not worry about this as
you are strengthening your legs. The most important thing is proper
form; this will let you get the most out of this exercise.Hold your side kick out for a slow five second count.Slowly bring your kick back in the same path it went out on for another slow five second count.Step 3: Back KickYou should already have your knee up as high as you can in front of you from step 2.Hold this position for a slow count of five seconds.Slowly extend your leg behind you into a back kick position for a slow count of five seconds.Hold your back kick for a slow five second count.Your leg should be fully extended and straight with your heel pointing up and your toes down. You will really feel this in your butt and lower back. Try to keep your kick up as high as you can without leaning much. You will have to lean a little to fully extend your leg.Slowly bring your kick back in the same path it went out on for another slow five second count.Step 4: Roundhouse KickYou should already have your knee up as high as you can in front of you from step 3.An
alternate way to start this is to move your kicking leg to the side of
your body. This will allow you to pivot around and have more of a
circular motion. I would recommend practicing both starting positions.
With the starting position in front of you, this will conceal
your kick more to your opponent as it will look just like a front kick.Hold this position for a slow count of five seconds. You are going to slowly pivot on your pivot foot 180 degrees while slowly performing a roundhouse kick.Make sure to keep your knee up as you did in your front kick. After your pivot foot is done moving, the heel should be pointing towards your target. While you are pivoting, your hips will naturally pivot which will allow your leg to extend into a roundhouse.Hold your roundhouse kick for a slow five second count. When
you strike with your roundhouse, practice using the ball of your foot.
Then make sure your foot is perpendicular to the floor.Slowly bring your kick back in the same path it went out on for another slow five second count. All in OneNow let's bring all these steps together. This will give you a better feel for how the whole drill will come together.Method 1:One
way to perform this exercise is to run through all 4 steps on one leg
and then alternating legs. Perform this whole sequence at least 3
times (3 sets). You may want to try it this way until you get all the
steps down and can balance yourself more easily through them all on one
leg.Method 2:Once you feel comfortable with method 1, it's
time to add more repetitions to each step. This time, you will perform
each step a minimum of 5 times before moving to the next step. Perform
all four steps on one leg before moving to the next leg. Perform this
whole sequence at least 3 times (3 sets).ConclusionDo not rush through your kicks. Make sure to use the full count for the extension and retraction of your kicks. When
you are going through these exercises, try not to let your kicking leg
touch the ground until you are ready to move onto the next leg. This
will improve your balance very quickly so you'll be able to go through
all of the steps without falling. For better results, make sure
you are doing a proper warm-up before starting this drill. After you
are done with your workout, you should be stretching out your body to
loosen up your muscles. You should start seeing better results in your kicks very quickly if you are following these drills. If you liked this guide, please check out my otherMartial Arts Guides on eBay and let me know what you think.Need any Martial Arts supplies? Faith Shoes Store Card

I love Faith Shoes Who doesn't

Instore one day they asked me if i would like a store card? with money off vouchers i could use that day.

Well i was a bit reluctant as i don't normaly have store or credit cards, so i said eventually said yes.

Brilliant i got 10 off my new shoes so only had to pay 55, the statement came in for 55 20 for card insurance protection.

I sent off a cheque for 55, the next statement came in i had a late payment fee of 20 and the card protection 20 service charge?????

Thought they had made an error so sent off 20, my account should have been clear.

I then bought a pair of shoes in the sale 25 so next month the statement came in 20 late payment fee 25 for the sale shoes. then another late payment fee of 20 so altogether 65.

I rang creative financial services (faith card) they had not got my cheque, then lots of hassling on the phone from them.

I mean5 phonecals in 2 days, i went to the bank and the cheque had been cashed.

Payments don't show up on all their systems so you get hassling phonecalls when they already have your money.

Then sadly my dad died suddenly so i was late sending a payment, they rang, i explained they removed a further 20 they had added.

Are you all following this.

Then another late payment fee of 20 was added because a cheque i had sent didn't clear their system in time.

You have to send cheques 14 days before your payment is due because it takes at least 10 days to clear their payment process

Mad isn't it??????

So have sent a letter asking for all the late payment charges they have added to my account,

The Late Payments exceeds the amount i have spent on shoes!!!!!!

So i am in the process of they remove the charges or i take them to the small claims court.

In the meantime they will charge me another 20 because i refuse to pay excessive charges

So unless you want lots of hassle avoid Faith Cards at all costs.

hope this helps someone avoid this mistake

Creative Financial Services, have now credited my account with the full ammount they charged me,

I will never use a faith card again,

Anyone else experiencing problems with them? contact me and i will send you copies of the letters i used.

Just need to send me a SAE,

The Truth about Free Sky on you PC

Alot of Ebayers have been conned into buying "Free Sky on you PC", why is this a con? because it is not possible I myself have researched into this and cannot find any evidence to suggest this is possible only facts stating it is not.

If you are considering buying Satellite TV on your PC shop around ask alot of questions. For example is it a piece of software or just a notepad document full of dead links. I have talked to alot of ebayers who have spent from 99p to 20.00 for what they believe to be Free TV Software but turned out to be a ebook full of links to websites (who also ask for money) and dead links. What some sellers forget is that these links need to be updated as they can easily die.

Myself and partner sellSatellite TV on your PC Software which we developed from the ground upwards and update regulary. I am not using this as an advert for my product but as a guide for ebayers and many have told me that they have paid high prices for out of date ebooks when promised software.

You can tell that an ebook such as the Free TV on you PC is being sold by so many ebayers, you can tell this by the way that their auction is layed out, alot of them are identical.

Always look at the small print, the auctions tend to start off offering Free TV Software but when you scroll down to the bottom of the listing the small print states its just an ebook.

Their offering free football viewing, can they back this up? ask them

Always check feedback, they may have excellent feedback rating but have you ever sat and read through it. Most ebayers do not want to receive negative feedback so sometimes even tho we are not entirely happy with the product we leave positive. But sometimes the positive feedback actually states their dislike to the product for example you get what you pay for.

My advice is find a few sellers who are selling Free TV Software ask what they can offer that no one else can and why theirs is the best. Dont rush into buying it do the research and dont end up like other ebayers who have been conned into buying something that is not what it says.

Before buying anything off ebay always make sure you know exactly what you are purchasing, ask as many questions as you want untill you are totally satisfied that you are purchasing what is being advertised in the listing and not some out of date ebook that has been doing the round for months.

Making a Best Offer

Hi there,

Just thought I'd share some thoughts on how to make aBest Offer on a Buy It Now item...

I have sold a fair fewitems over the last few months where I haveinvitedbuyers to make Best Offers. This is a great selling tool, and also a great way for buyers to get a bargain.

As a rule of thumb, I usually refuse offers that aremore than 10% lower than the Buy It Now price (but not always ;-) asI always aim to set my prices fairly

Beware of GReddy

Recently there has been a surge of name brand counterfeit items being sold on eBay that are coming out of China.

Superbit DVDs Fake or Genuine??

Hi,

This i my first guide so, please bear with me. Firstly i recently purchased a 'promotional' Superbit from an Ebay member, and to be quite frank was shocked at what i received. So i thought i'd write a few lines and explain to anyone that was unsure of what superbits actually are.

Superbits were introduced so all the information space on a dvd would be available(and made use)forthe sole purpose ofgetting the best sound and image from a standard dvd. They generally have higher bitrates than a standard dvd because of this.

A few pointers to make sure they are genuine.

All official Superbits have a Dolby Digital and DTS soundtrack as standard!!! This was one of the main selling points of the Superbit range.
If you do buy one and in the case that i bought, run the DTS sountrack and they will be for some inexplainable reason, a foriegn voice-over on top of the english track!!!It'll sound like an extremely poor dubbed film!
To my knowledge Disney never signed theirs or Pixar releases to the superbit range.
Neither did George Lucas, the seller i dealt with had all 6 Star Wars on promotional Superbit.
NO 'official' Superbit has any additional features what so ever. That was the point of them.
The promotional ones have the collection on the back of them, showing you what's supposedly available.Onall the official superbits i own which i have both Region 1 and2, there's no sign of this so called advertising.

I seriously hope this helps any questions anyone may have regardingSuperbits. Please if anyone find this helpful then state so, so that others are more than likely to take mywarning.

Be careful with this guy taraflaherty123 cheating, scam

I recently got swindled by the guy named taraflaherty123. Any sellers should avoid this guy! He bought my phone and asked me to collect it. As I did not have experience so I accepted. After getting the phone, he disputed on Paypal and get the money back. Because he used an unconfirmed address so Paypal could not help me in this case.It is my bad experience when I started selling. If you have just started selling, you must be careful with this kind of person. NEVER sell anything to unconfirmed addresses.Take care and good luck!

National Curriculum Keywords

Don't pay to download the National Curriculum keywords from someone selling them on ebay. They can be downloaded FREE from theGovernment Standards Site. Find the Primary National Strategy, select the NLS (National Literacy Strategy), open Section 3 - Appendices and then select "High Frequency words for Word Recognition Yr R to Yr 2".

Alternatively you could request the list from your child's school and type them in yourself.

BUYING A VICTORIAN STYLE GAZEBO

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A VICTORIAN STYLED IRONGAZEBO AND AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT, NOW THAT IT IS FINALLY UP.

THE SELLER GAVE US SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RECEIVE IT I.E.IF IT WAS NOT CHECKED OVER, TO SIGN "UNCHECKED" ON THE DELIVERY NOTE. WHICH I AM GLAD TO SAY,WE DID.

THIS WAS VERY PRUDENT AS THREE MAINPARTS WERE DAMAGED OR BROKEN. WE CONTACTED THE SELLER BY EMAIL STRAIGHT AWAY AND THEY ARRANGED REPLACEMENT PARTS WITHOUT A FUSS. JUST ONE WORKING DAY TO WAIT.

THOUGH THIS PARTICULAR GAZEBO WAS 135.00 IT WAS A BARGAIN. NOT THE RUN OF THE MILL POP UP ONES, THAT HAVE THEIR USES, BUT A SUBSTANTIAL PIECE OF KIT. WE PLAN ON LEAVING IT UP ALL YEAR ROUND, AS IT IS A SHELTER FOR MY WASHING DURING THE WINTER!!

WHICH LEADS ME TO THE ONLY CRITISISM I HAVE. THE SELLER NEVER WARNED MEABOUT HOW HEAVY THE ITEM WAS. THOUGH IT CAME IN 3 PACKAGES,THE SINGLE DELIVERY PERSON COULD NOT GETONE OUT OF THE VAN BY HERSELF, AND NEEDED ME TO ASSIST HER.

THE ITEM CAME WITH ONE PICTURE AS INSTRUCTIONS TO PUTUP TOGETHER, EVEN A CHIMP COULD DO IT....I THOUGHT. HOWEVER A LOT OF IT WAS OPEN TO INTERPRETATION. I LIKED THE DESIGN OF THE BEAMSTHE OTHER WAY UP FROM THE DRAWING, MY ARTIST LICENCE KICKING IN. HOWEVER WHEN MY PARTNER AND I WERE READY TO ADD THE FINISHING TOUCHES, WE REALISED THAT THEY HAD TO GO THE OTHER WAY FOR ALL THE PIECES TO FIT, AND THE WHOLE LOT HAD TO BE DISMANTLED. AFTER MY PARTNER SWORE FOR THE 13TH TIME I GAVE UP AND WENT IN TO DO THE IRONING, AND LEFT HIM TO STRUGGLE ON ALONE IN THE DARK!!!

ALLS WELL THAT ENDS WELL...IT'S THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER BOUGHT OFF EBAY AND MY FRIENDS WILL BE GLAD OF THE SHADE/ SHELTERIT GIVES AT FUTURE GATHERINGS!

Selling Postcards

When selling postcards please keep the heading simple, with the place name first followed by the county then a brief description. There is no need to put the words "Postcard , or old or vintage" we know they are, that is why we are looking, put all the other information in the descriptionincluding any of your references , together with the photo, and please no long lists of "do's and don'ts" and no longcomplicated lists of postage details . Keep it simple and more people will bother to look. Happy selling.

f spaced or non f spaced pickups

ok so the one thing i get asked most by people on message boards of friends regarding guitars is, what is the difference between F and non f spaced pickups? So, to explain the difference between them we have to go back to days when the 2 biggest selling companies were Fender and gibson, the major difference between these brands is fenders tend to have trems on them, gibsons do not, the gaps between the strings on guitars with trems on are slightly different to those without, so the f-spaced pickups refer to "fender spacing" aka trem spacing. So basically if you have a trem/locking trem on your guitar you'll need f-spaced pickups, if you dont then you need non f-spaced, although i believe the differences in sound between the two would be negliable and the benefits are purely cosmetic :-)hope that helps you guys :)

Words of wisdom from an autograph hunter

I collect many signed football shirts and signed golf flags. I am a member of the Professional Golfers Association and so getting golf flags signed is far easier than getting football shirts signed. Words of warning when buying signed shirts. Football clubs have signing sessions for the players to sign a mulitude of shirts. These shirts are usually only for Charity etc. Any buyer claiming to be the exclusive company to get signed shirts is more often than not telling fibs. The exclusive company is the club itself.

It is far easier to get a signed shirt by an individual player rather than a squad, as seeing players out and about is a usual practice and quite often players are willing to sign an item hear and there on such travels. I recently saw an x-Manchester United player signing a dozen items for a colector outside of a hotel.

Most of tht top clubs now warn their players that people are trying to make money from signed shirts etc. At Liverpool I have spoken to a player who told me they try and avoid signing shirts outside of teh training ground as they know it is all too often for for a person to make money from.

On golf flags a lot of the top players ask who it should be signed too. I speak of course of Tiger Woods. Do not buy any flags signed by Tiger, as he only likes to make it out to the bearer.

If you go to a high street store and look at th eamount of money a signed shirt goes for then you may consider 650.00 . This is taking into consideration a 100.00 frame so we are still looking at 550.00 for a shirt. If you are buying off ebay then you may wish to consider paying at least over 125.00. Stay away from the 50.00 buy it now shirts or the cheap no ones bid on it shirts. Theirs a reason their so cheap!

Dispute Console Problem

In some unfortunate circumstances it is necessary to raise a dipute. Even if the dispute is found in your favour, i.e. the other party was in error, feedback can still be left by them. Unfortunately if they are feeling malicous they will often proceed to leave negative feedbackand there is nothing you can do about it. This has happened to me on a couple of occasionsand I'm sure it hashappened to many other users. I've contacted Ebay to advise them that the winning party should only have the oppurtunity to leave feeback following a dispute and the loser's right be revoked. They do not agree with this, but I think it is unfair that a honest Ebayer's feedback score should suffer for taking action againstadishonest Ebayer.

If you agree that Ebay should change their policy on this matterplease vote this guide useful.

Important Crochet Information when using Patterns

Be sure to check where the pattern is from so you know what the abbreviations really mean.

The different stitch names used

In the English-speaking crochet world, the basic stitches have different names. The differences are usually referred to as UK/US or British/American.

Examples of these differences and their usual abbreviations are:

* UK double crochet (DC) = US single crochet (SC) * UK treble crochet (TR) = US double crochet (DC) * Uk double treble crochet (DTR) = US treble crochet (TR)* And so on.

Difference between the US and UK crochet terms

UK - Chain Stitch (ch)US - Chain Stitch (Ch)How to do it - Hook through, wrap the yarn over the hook and draw the yarn through to form a new loop.

UK - Slip Stitch (sl st)US - Slip Stitch (Sl st)How to do it - Insert the hook into the work as indicated, wrap the yarn over the hook, and draw the yarn through the work plus the loop on the hook in one movement.

UK - Double Crochet (dc)US - Single Crochet(Sc)How to do it - Insert the hook into the work, yarn over the hook and draw the yarn through the work only, yarn over hook draw the yarn through both loops on the hook.

UK - Half Treble (htr)US - Half Double Crochet (Hdc)How to do it - Wrap yarn over hook and insert the hook into the work, yarn over the hook draw through work. Wrap yarn over hook and draw through all 3 loops in the hook.

UK - Treble (tr)US - Double Crochet (Dc)How to do it - Wrap yarn over hook and insert the hook into the work, yarn over the hook draw through work. Wrap yarn over hook draw through first 2 loops, then yarn over hook, draw through last two loops.

UK - Double Treble (dtr)US - Treble(Tr)How to do it - Wrap the yarn over the hook twice and insert the hook into the work, yarn over hook draw through work. Wrap the yarn over hook, draw through first two loops, yarn over hook draw through next two loops, yarn over hook draw through last two loops.

UK - MissUS - SkipHow to do it - Do not work the particular stitch.

UK - TensionUS - GaugeThis refers to how lose or tight you crochet your stitches. Some patterns list measurements for a certain number of stitches and/or rows. Crochet a sample and adjust your hook size if required.

Always check where the pattern is from so you know what the abbreviations really mean.

ammunition, ordinence and fire arms

This is a personal lesson i learnt today, 07 11 06.....i have just finished an interview, with an extremly pleasant member of the police firearms Division, who was directed to an item i have for sale on ebay....

The german S mine I was selling had appeared on a number of ebay listings recently, and completed their auctions...I there for felt these items were OK to list.....but apparently not!!!...the mines law and legislation 1998, make any form of ordinence like this illegal to sell, own or buy....and although this mine was totally inert, and made 100% safe, it still could be illegal...the Police have taken the mine away for inspection, and i have been informed that if it does not breach any laws it will be returned to me....but is listing such an item, worth the risk in future...NO, and even if i do have it back, it will not be listed on ebay again........

there is a sobering message there for all who deal in these items, and who own any form of ordinence...the laws have become more stringant, and have changed dramatically over the past 8 or so years, so something you had before this, that was legal, could infact now be illegal.....You must check precisly how laws effect any item you may have, and many items can be researched on most search enigines, ie google, or yahoo....

I was totally un- aware that i could possibly be breaching any laws, and the items initially brought via ebay, was illegal to export from Germany, inert or not...I was not aware of those rules either....so in effect, be careful what you buy, and if something is live...when you recieve it, drop it into a bucket of either water, or sand...do NOT mess with it, or try to remove any parts, once its out the way of people and pets, and as safe as can be, call the Police....you can't get into trouble for ignorance, but there is only a certain ammount of ignorance before it becomes cover up...

Do not risk your liberty for a collectable, that could also be deadly. Even items purchased at fairs, or museums, or from freinds...always check they are legal, and allowed..you could lose your liberty, worse still you could lose a limb or your life....but heaven forbid you could lose your ebay account...OH no!!!!!!...a bit of dry enlish humour there...be careful folks, it just is not worth it

What are First day Covers ?

A first day cover is an envelope where the postage stamps have been cancelled on their first day of issue.

The first day of issue is the day on which a postage stamp or Postal/stamp card (ie PHQ) card or stamped envelope is officially put on sale, usuallysometimes ina particular city, though sometimes in several cities simultaneously, nationwide or in a particular region.

There will usually be a first day of issue postmark frequently a pictorial cancellation, indicating the city and date where the item was first issued, and "first day of issue" is often used to refer to this postmark. Unofficial first day of issue postmarks can also occur when an individual stamp collector or dealer purchases the stamps in question from a post office in the first day of issue city and then takes them or send them(on that same day) to a post office in another city to have them cancelled.

Related to first day covers (FDC's) are event covers. Instead of marking the issuance ofthe stamp(s) they commemorate events both big (say, the launching of a new space shuttle) and small (the opening of a new regional attraction, for instance).Sometimes adesign on the left side of the envelope (a "cachet") explains the event or anniversary being celebrated. Ideally the stamp or stamps affixed relate to the event. Cancels are obtained either from the location or from the Postal Service's local Cancellation Services Bureau or designated cancellation centre.

What can go wrong with Computers

When you buy a computer from new if it does not break down within the first few days of working it should last a lengthy time.Older models just need one component to fail. What can go wrong with Computers thereare a number of reasons. After building Computers over a number of years, they have become so cheap to buy as a package that unless you want a customt built one its not worth the time to build one unless you enjoy doing it. If you find the Computer stops working and starting after a short timeor slows rightdown, this could be the software, of the files in the holding area, thisDelete all temporary files and cookies,or at worseReformat Dics and reload software. Or maybethe cooling fan for the Proceesor is failling, replace the cooling fan. The other commonthing I have found on all computers over time (2-3 years in use)is the Time clock on the computerslows down, this is caused by the motherboard battery, on my last 3 computers I have used aLithium 2032. Very easy to do but take all your data off the computer before you do this as the Bios will reset its self to default andWindows XP software may detect new hardware andnot work correctley after replacing the battery, ifunable to recover your opperating system then it will be a format theHard drive and reload the opperating software. If youare not sure of what you are doing then it is always best to get expert help.Thank you for reading this Hope it may help

Most important feature is it's builtin GPS receiver. I have to say that it is a very powerful and accurate GPS receiver with 16 channels. I've used few models of TomTom and Navmanand some bluetooth GPS receiver, Iwas amazed that Digiwalker P350made a very goodGPS connectionin my room where TomTom or Navman never worked. P350 also has a standard antenna connection but I never had to use it. The received is not only powerful it also gets ready for work in very short time.

I've am using TomTom Navigator 6 with my P350. The installation is hassel free. Simply insert the TomTom SD card, the installation will start and it only takes few seconds. You don't need to setup the GPS receiver as TomTom will recognize it itself.

P350 has a mini USB connection and an Infrared port. If you have some extra pounds I'd suggest to go for P550 which has same features as P350 with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity option.

Broken Screen Ipod nano? NOT YOUR FAULT Calim it

Dear Nano Customers,

Do you know today Apple sales 8.5 million ipods in every 3 months? with billions of revenue every year

The Nano itself is a big hit of Apple but myself including hundred of thousands other people broke the lcd of their nano, i refered to the forums and everyone was complaining about same issue in nano,

Apple took pains to play down the flaw, saying only a fraction of the Nanos shipped are affected. "It's a real but minor issue," says company spokesman Steve Dowling. "It's a vendor-quality problem in a small number of units. It's affected less than one-tenth of 1% of the total Nano units that we've shipped. But it's not a design issue." And Apple has pledged to replace cracked devices, advising customers with damaged screens to contact it directly.

so if your ipod screen is broken and its still under warrenty, claim your ipod replacement and you will get new in 1 week. but when you request replacement dont forgot to include that screen is broken from inside , as apple's spokesman confesses about this flaw of the product and its because of the fault and dont even forget to curse apple quality.

hope you would get your replacementregards

Second Chance Scam?

I have bought and sold various items using eBay, and not a few of them motorcycles. My last purchase was made a couple of months ago from an eBay member the other end of the country. As the seller had 100% positive feedback from a score of 36, I had no qualms about sending payment for my bike as soon as I had established contact - after all, this is the spiritof Ebay, and whythe feedback system works - I mean, ifthe seller had made 36 deals all with positive feedback, I would be a tad unlucky to make the deal which went wrong?

Next day,I was busy arranging courier services to collect the bike, and was very surprised to recieve an email from a member I had had no dealings with, who enquiredwhy I had withdrawn from the deal on the bike I had just bought, and if there was anything wrong , as he had just been offered a 'second chance' offer on the same bike, and wondered whether to proceed or not?I was very shocked , as I had obviously not pulled out of the deal, and immediately thought the worst - I had visions of having to go to the other end of the country to attempt to sort out this mess personally.

I phoned the seller to see if my payment had arrived, andhe was adamant that the bike was mine and that he had recieved my payment, and also stated that he had also been contactedby no less than two other members who had also been offered second chance offers on the bike and he too had no idea what was going on.

Although I was asomewhat reassured, I was nevertheless extremely uneasy until my courier had picked up the bike and delivered it to me. I, of course, contacted Ebay and informed them of the scam, and they also investigated the problem on my behalf.

I have heard since that this is quite a common scam, although I am completely at a loss as to how the instigatorhopes to benefit from this fraud, as he must be the registered eBay seller in order to get paid more than once, and the seller has only one item to sell, so who was responsible and what did he hope to gain?

What is more important is that my immediate reaction was to blame the entirely innocent seller. I wasinitiallycertain that, even given his faultless feedback score, he was the one responsible for trying toattemptthis fraud. I am , of course, now totally certain he had nothing to do with it, and that he was as concerned as myself about what washappening to our transaction! Luckily for me, I guess , a happy ending!.

FALSE: "SKY Cards do not work"

SKY CARDS DO WORK! I have read several listing with peopleclaimingSKY cards do not work on different SKY boxes. I'm not an expert in this field, but I am goingto have todenounce these claims as "FALSE". The reason I have made this claim myself is due to experience. I have a sky card and have only todaytried it on the fifth differentSKY Digital Box.They all worked without a hitch.

I don't know the experience of these other people, but in my case I beg to differ. So before such claims are made, it is wise to chose ones words carefully in order not to misinform others. I hope this helps.

TREATING HYPERPIGMENTATION

What is hyperpigmentation?

Normal skin contains cells called melanocytes that produce the brown
skin-coloring pigment melanin. There are several conditions in which
melanocytes are either abnormal or abnormally distributed. Most skin
conditions that cause discoloration are harmless.

A pale area of the skin is the result of fewer or less active
melanocytes than usual, whereas a darker area (or area that tans more
easily) indicates more numerous or more active melanocytes.

What about the red/brown marks left behind after acne?

These kind of marks are postinflammatory hyperpigmented lesions and are
located at the site of a skin trauma after it has healed. They can
result from acne, bites, burns or skin infections. The lesions range
from light brown to black in colour. Lesions may become darker if
exposed to sunlight (UV rays).

Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation can occur in anyone, but is more
common in darker skinned individuals, in whom the colour tends to be
more intense and persists for a longer period.

What is the cause of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation?

Inflammatory responses of the skin to disease or trauma results in the
release and oxidation of arachidonic acid. The resulting reaction
alters the activity of immune cells and melanocytes. Melanocytes
produce more melanin (skin colour pigment), which is transferred to
surrounding skin cells. This is known as epidermal hypermelanosis and
can be treated with skin care products.

What about marks caused by sun damage?

Larger flat brown spots on the face and hands arising in middle age
also result from sun damage exposure. Unlike freckles they tend to
persist for long periods and don't disappear in the winter (though they
may fade). Commonly known as age spots or liver spots, the correct term
for a single lesion is benign solar lentigo (plural lentigines).
Lentigines are common in those with fair skin but are frequently seen
in those who tan easily or have naturally dark skin. Lentigines are due
to accumulated pigment cells (melanocytic hyperplasia).

What are the best non-surgical treatments for hyperpigmentation?
Usually, hyperpigmentation will gradually lessen over time and normal
skin colour will return. However, this is a long process that may take
up to 6-12 months or longer. It is advisable to use a good broad
spectrum sunscreen daily to reduce further darkening. A variety of
topical treatments are available to lighten and fade hyperpigmented
lesions. Varying degrees of success are achieved but combinations of
the treatments below are usually required for significant improvement.

Stabilised Vitamin C : Water Soluble - Magnesium or Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (note: L-ascorbic acid, the type of vitamin C available in chemists, is very unstable once it is dissolved in water and is not suitable for water based cosmetics. It is also irritating to the skin due to its acidity)Stabilised Vitamin C: Oil soluble -Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (note: Ascorbyl Palmitate, which is a cheap oil soluble vitamin C added to numerous cosmetics, is not suitable for treating hyperpigmentation. This is because it is impossible to dissolve enough of the active in a cosmetic formula to get significant results (it is used at less than 1% concentration). Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is new oil soluble form of vitamin C developed in Japan, and is unique in that it can be used at concentrations of upto 7%. It is still fairly rare and expensive ingredient. but shows excellent skin benefit.Retinoids
Alpha Arbutin (This is a compound found in Bearberry. It is very stable and in my opinion the best active for melasma)
Kojic acid (This is derived from reishi mushrooms. It works well, but will oxidise in water based creams, turning a brown colour)

N-Acetyl Glucosamine

Buying A Rickenbacker

There's only 2 things you need to know when buying a Rickenbacker Guitar, any guitar from China is a SCAM, so set your search to UK only and you will not be subjected to these patheticconmen .

Then check out items available in Europe , again you wont see these CHINESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS.

And Finally if you want to import , go to www.ebay.com and bring it on home , but dont forget, to import a guitar add on 24% of the cost of the guitar and of the shipping cost , before you decide you have a good deal or not.

There are some specialist sellers in the UK with great feedback, try one of them , its safe and you can often see before you buy, after all they are expensive pieces of kit............................Your choice

Fraudulent Feedback

Why does ebay allow people to have fraudulent feedback. Its easy to spot, ebayer's who just buy items for 0.01 with no postage charge, this way they increase their f/b even sometimes buyingmultiple items for 0.01 No complaints I have made to ebay have been taken seriously.

Ebay do not even consider this aproblem.

Buying Website links for Cheap Xbox 360 games

I have noticed over the last few weeks that there are a lot of Ebayers selling what they say are brand new PAL games for 22.99 delivered to your door. This could not be any further from the truth. These Ebayers are stating that the latest games like Fifa 07 and Gears of War can be bought from this website for 22.99. People are then paying these people anything from 2 upwards for the website link in the hope of purchasing the latest games cheap.

The site does sell games at 22.99 but the games are only those whose publishers chose not to put region protection on (which are few and far between). I bought one of these links and saw that there was 12 games at this price and the newer titles I mentioned earlier are PAL (i.e not region free) and they cost 38 .

This is all well and good if the title you want is region free but what you have to bear in mind and this is the part the Ebayers don't tell you in their decription is that the site is based in the far east. This is where you get stung when you buy the games as the postman or courier won't let you have your goods until you pay the customs and excise duty which could then put the game at the same price or more expensive as if you you had bought the game new/used from your local Tesco/Gamestation etc.

I have bought games/machines from the far east (Liksang.com - this is not the site they are selling btw) and have first hand experience in having a courier demanding cash for the customs duty and can tell you it's not cheap. Companies abroad don't have the luxury of being able to deeclare their items as gifts on the green stickers and are obliged to write the financial value of the goods.

I am prepared to tell you what the website is that they are selling but I don't encourage anyone to buy from them hence this guide. All I will say is if youwant the site email me but bear in mind what I say.

Thanks for your time and please vote to say you have found it useful.

Thanks.

Club card vouchers

If you are buying club card vouchers off ebay, be careful. When you attempt to cash them in for deals ie: MFI tokens you will be contacted by Tesco to say they have returned them to the name on the voucher as they are non transferable and you have already paid the person for them.

Some ebayers are saying that they will do this for you. However, the deal tokens still have their name on and if you present them in store to MFI and your name and the name on the voucher doesn't tally, they will not allow you to use them.

Paypal Safety - The true cost of selling through paypal

Every day thousands of people using ebay will be buying and selling things using paypal. This is a fast and efficient way of paying via the web. However, there are negative points to both buying andselling through paypal.

Buying Using Paypal:

Buying items through paypal could'nt be any easier and for the most part it is safe and fast. However, there are some sellers (wether you agree with this or not it happens!) that charge their buyers for using paypal. This is usually to cover the listing fees, tax, exchange rate if overseasand the dreaded 'paypal cut' which is explained in the next section. Some sellers do take advantage of this though and hide the fact that they will charge for using paypal. This will then come as a shock to the buyer who then has to pay more than they first thought. In the most extreme cases sellers will charge a paypal charge which they themselves will profit from. I have seen instances where buyers have been charged up to 80% of their initial purchase! This is wrong anda very dishonest practice on the sellers part. Paypal itself places no directfinancial burden on the buyer so if the seller offers a no paypal charge service then it is a very good method of buying items via the internet.

Selling Using Paypal:

When you sell anything through ebay you are subject to an insertation fee and 17.5% tax. Fair enough, Ebay need to make there profit some how. Paying for the insertation fees and taxcan be done by sending a postal order, a cheque or by using paypal. Easy and no hidden charges there then. However, when you sell your item say for a total of 100 and the buyer decides to pay via paypal then you can be very sure that you will not get the full100. Once the ebay sellers feesand taxhas been paid for paypal will instantly take a cut of the ammount that the buyer paid. Then a further charge will be made to withdraw the money and transfer it to your bank account (which with paypal takes in excess of 7 days!). If you decide to keep the money in your paypal account to use on ebay or other sites associated with paypal then every time that money is moved through transactions paypal takes a cut thus eventually ending up with the entire ammount in their pockets. Some sellers are ok with this and to make the point that i am not anti -paypal nor am i pro- paypal i am just trying to give a balanced argument and let people know what to expect.

Paypal is a really good way to pay for things via the internet. It is fast and easy, this guide is just making it clear that there are a lot of charges to consider escpecially when selling through paypal. I hope this guide has been useful and as honest as possible. If this guide was helpful please click the butto below to encourge more guides and reviews like this one. Thank you.

The HP vintage pocket calculator's 2008 buyer's guide 1

Introduction

This guide is the result of years of experience in buying actively Hewlett-Packard vintage calculators on eBay. It concerns only pocket calculators and some peripherals, when they are available. It is made for everyone who is looking for a fine calculator or for the exigent collector. It is not made for traders who lose their precious time to make poor money on the back of collectors, buying and reselling immediately on eBay (often bad condition, not sufficiently described or tested and overpriced products) without thinking one minute about HP glorys days.

I dedicate this guide to the HP Museum site which is a good introduction for HP calculators fans and to HP Corporation who represents a big part in my career in Information Technologies.

The HP vintage pocket calculators family

Between 1972 and the beginning of 90s, HP produced different families of calculators. Each family could be identified by a series name:

Sony PS3 Delayed until March 2007

PlayStation 3 Euro launch delayed....

The launch of Sony's long-awaited PlayStation 3 games console in Europe
has been delayed until March 2007. Ken Kutaragi, head of Sony's global
computer entertainment division, said the machine would still be
launched in November in the US and in Japan. Mr Kutaragi blamed the
European delay on problems in mass producing elements of the
high-definition Blu-ray disc drives in the machines.

Sony said it still aimed to ship six million new PlayStations by March.
But it halved its forecast for the end of 2006, saying just two million
units would be shipped worldwide before the end of December.

Production problems meant that fewer machines than anticipated would be
available for the launch in Japan and the US, Mr Kutaragi said.
Speaking at Sony's global headquarters in Tokyo, Mr Kutaragi apologised
for the delays to the PlayStation 3 launch. But he said Sony had
decided to focus on the US and Japan in the run-up to Christmas.

"I am so sorry not to be able to answer all the expectations," he said.
The delay is due to a problem with the mass production of the blue
laser diodes needed for the Blu-ray DVD player in the machine Sony
said.

Long delays

This is not the first time the next-generation console has been hit by
delays. In March Sony were forced to postpone the original launch date,
scheduled for spring 2006, because of problems with the Blu-ray disc
copy protection technology.

Normally Sony staggers the release of a new console, releasing in Japan
and America, with Europe coming a belated third. The initial delays
meant that Sony revised its schedule, saying that the console would be
released in all three markets at the same time.

David Reeves, head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe said at the
time: "This is an exciting first for Europe, and is a huge endorsement
and vote of confidence in the strength of the European market and its
importance globally." The latest delay means that European gamers will
have to wait a further 4 months to get their hands on the next
generation console.

Christmas disappointment

It also means Microsoft's Xbox 360, which was launched last year, will
enjoy another Christmas without facing a challenge from Sony in Europe.
Nintendo's Wii console is also scheduled for a worldwide release this
autumn, although no firm date has been set.

Ray Maguire, senior vice president and managing director of Sony UK,
said: "We are extremely disappointed at news of this delay, and can
truly empathise with everyone who was looking forward to PS3's imminent
release. "We will however be working tirelessly to ensure that the
March 2007 launch, is the biggest and best in the company's history."

On Wednesday Sony began introducing UK retailers to the new games
console. Some were hoping to begin taking pre-orders for the console
from the middle of September.

Tim Ellis, head of games for HMV, said the delay was a disappointment
for gamers and for retailers, who had been waiting for the launch for
much of 2006. "It also presents a major opportunity to Microsoft to
consolidate Xbox's position in the market, while Nintendo have a great
chance to launch and firmly establish Wii," Mr Ellis added.

Shoe Sizing Chart

Shoe sizes according to manufacturers are quite different. We measure them to assure accuracy. I receive many questions regarding sizing for shoes. The chart below is quite accurate, but the bottom-line is centimeters on the insole. The general rule of thumb to convert US sizes to EUR sizes for women is 31 The us size. If you wear an 8, 31 8 = 39. That does not work across all brands. For men it is 34 US size= EUR. Close but not exact. Here is a chart to guide you:

101 of buying designer bags on Ebay

I only started getting into ebay a few months back in order to sell things that other people could make use of instead of throwing it away and wasting it. Although the idea of an online auction place is ingenuis, and a lot of people use this marketplace in good faith, there is unfortunately a lot of people who misuse the concept. It annoys me highly how many fakes of designer bags are out there, and how many people actually bid for these! It is always possible to pick up a bargain on ebay, and here are some of the basic things I would always check before over-paying for an item that is essentially not worth anything.

You've found a bag you like and want to buy it. You've seen the listing and it looks could. However make sure you inspect both the interior and exterior before you buy the item. Ask the seller questions. Often communication with the seller reveals a lot about them. See if they give you straight forward answers or not.

In addition here are some basic things you should definitely check:

Ensure that metallic logo tags, lining or any other labels are not glued on. These should be stiched on.

Look at the symmetry of the design pattern, these should be in line. If they are even slightly tilted you can be sure it's not real.

Have a look at the interior; Even though the outside may look immaculate on a 'good' fake, the inside lining can give it away by poor quality lining. You often get bags where the inside lining is 'pulled' in places. Hardly good quality and hence fake. A designer bag is expensive for a reason, they have flawless perfection and quality and the inside stiching should be perfect.

As for the outside check for any loose or missing stitches. The color of the thread should match the main color of the bag and the stitches should be evenly spaced. I've seen some Brown Zucca bags with white stitching on ebay which are marketed as authentic and still get bids!

Feel the material. If it's overly stiff or overly soft chances are good it's fake.

Ask about the source of the bag. Was it a gift? A lot of sellers will avoid the question saying it was a gift in order to hide the true source. Ask where it was purchased, ask for the receipt. If they don't have the receipt then stores usually have all purchasing in the computer system so they can easily get hold of a copy if they wanted to.

KNOW YOUR BAGS. If you're not sure about the collection, have a look in the stores. A lot of designer items have serial numbers which should be the same for a particular design, compare these in store. Just because you are given a serial number does not gurantee it's authenticy-they could be random numbers. Make sure you do your homework.

Also just because sellers offer authenticy card or hologram labels it DOES NOT PROVE the bags authenticy-these can easily be made.

There is a big market for fake Louis Vuitton bags, but it's not too difficult to spot a fake if you look closely. The colors usually give it away. If you see an item that you like and not sure about, visit the official websites and compare the items. They can be more or less the same looks wise on the outside, but fakes usually have the wrong design inside.

Also surely the price gives it away. Why why why would anyone who purchased a bag for 400-2000 sell it on ebay for 20?? And ever wondered why people sell BRAND NEW bags for a fraction of their cost? And not only one, but zillion of them??

Fundamentally good common sense is the key. Always be sceptical, expect the worse because unfortunately there is a huge market of fakes out there. If it's too good to be true it's not true.

Excessive Postal Charge? Think again!

Hi, I am writing this guide becuase alot of people think postage charges by some ebayers are too much. Please think twice about this. Remember when bidding or buying an item you are agreeing to the postal charges displayed on the listing. And if you were charged 10 P

Is the used car you're about to buy SAFE to drive?

"Car Buyer Beware" -Buy safe -BE SAFE

Many unfit and unsafe cars continue to be sold to unsuspecting buyers:

Many have been "written off" at sometime in their past but have been cleverly repaired with filler and paint. Get in an accident in one of these cars and they can disintegrate on impact.
Cut and shut vehicles one car produced by welding together the front and back of two different vehicles. In this instance two for the price of one is not good news.
Every day 30 "stolen cars" are sold to unsuspecting customers, who ultimately have to hand them back to their rightful owners so they end up out of pocket and with no car.
Many used cars have had their "mileage reset" so you don't know the extent of their use and can end up with a car that might need a new engine soon after you drive it away.
A high number of cars are sold with outstanding finance agreements which can result in the finance company taking the car back in order to recoup the money owed to them, so you end up with no car and no money.

Don't risk lives or loss of hard earned money:

Make sure you have a "fullhistory" for the car.
If it hasn't already been "independently inspected" (not a report by the seller themselves - after all, they have a vested interest to 'sell' the car in it's best light) then pay for an independent inspection of the car.
Make sure you're going to be happyafter you've bought your next "used car"...

The British waste 456 million a year on bad used car buys because they don't do their homework, according to research from GM, which suggests an average of 28% of car purchases end in regret.

32% of the respondents quoted a lack of knowledge of used cars as the main reason for making pad purchasing decisions, whilst 68% blame themselves for buying too quickly.

This was also the finding from an RAC survey, which reports that nearly a third of people buying cars, fail to spot serious problems and end up paying a great deal of money for repairs that could have been avoided.

For 24% of buyers who experienced difficulties, mechanical problems occurred within one month after buying.

Get it checked!

When cars are sold as seen, it's the buyers responsibility to check that all is well.

To ensure that the car is completely safe and roadworthy, get it inspected by an organisation like the AA or RAC, before you part with any money. Statistics show that 94% of customers would like an independent inspection before they buy a used car. This can cost from 120 to 340 but you can save this cost by looking for companies who list their vehicles withINDEPENDENT reports, which you can read for free before you buy.

Don't be fooled by sparkling bodywork or the clean smell of a fresh valet because looks can be deceiving and, without a full inspection, you could be driving off in an unsafe vehicle that will cost a fortune to put right. Or worse still, you don't know about a mechanical fault until you've had an accident. If the car has been inspected by the RAC for instance, when you bought it you've at least got some come-back in the unlikely event that something does go wrong.

Always, always make sure your possible next used car is checked by an independent brand you can trust.

ex-lease, or ex-fleet cars, direct from the fleet disposer, are usually well maintained and come with full history.

kidz Kargo tandem buggy

Totally loved the last model, it went everywhere including sking and beach walks.
However with baby nb 4 though to buy the latest modle. Which so far has let us down.
It's collapsed on us a number of times with kids on the move. There's no safety latch, like the last model.
Some fault in the design, still awaiting feed back from manufactures.
It's bulky and hard to handle, does not fold down easliy, both hands must be free.
I found it hard to put any sleeping child into it.

BUYING WHEEL SPACERS

Here are a few tips to buying wheel spacers for your vehicle to ensure you get the correct ones needed.

First of all always remember safety first. Make sure you read the installation instructions included and follow them, including correct torques. It is not a case of the tighter the better with wheel studs/extension studs.

Buyng or selling an EKO guitar?

It was 1978 when I bought my first guitar and guess what? It was an EKO RIO BRAVO 6. I never rated it because my friends had better guitars. It was only through the years that I discovered that itwas a better model than the RANGER with a non-detachable neck. In fact it was hand made in the Research and Development dept in the EKO factory not on the production line. Alot of information can be found at Fetish Guitars dot comwebsite on Mr Pigini, founder of EKO as well as alot of links to collectors and pictures of instruments of the era. As a rule only the guitars made upto 1981 are collectable. Once you become familiarised with the pictures and shapes on that website you can spot straightaway just by the scratchplatewhich model it is as for the year it was made pre 1966 have a number not a name for the model (ie. J54 became the ranger),in 1967 the doubleT truss rod was patented(you can spot it at the end of the neck through the sound hole), 1970's guitars have a different label and rosette from the 1980's onwards and so on. The best folk models ever madeare the Eldorado, followed by the Rio Bravo. Spruce sound board(picea abies(mostly laminated))and respectively Brazilian Rosewood back and side (dalbergia nigra) (laminated) and mahogany backand side (swietenia macrophylla).I have read all their catalogues and in all of them it says that great care has been taken in selectingthe best tonal woods but it seems to me that the only great care they took was in matching the inner and outer veneers so to make look like solid wood(never surpassedthe better and more expensive brandson that skill though, i've been fooled a few times!!!).The best classical guitars ever made by EKOare the model 9092 and the El gaucho, undoubtely the most original and beautifull,so if you have one of these don't give it away!!.As for most of all the other acoustic models including the Ranger, they are all laminated top, back and side, machine made, mass produced and amazingly outlasting their much more expensive counterparts. There are currently some for sale on ebay which are rarer than the rangers and not even selling for half the price of the latter. Why have a punto when you can have a coupe' for less!! By the way this doesnt just apply to EKO guitars.I have seen a lot of branded guitars of laminate construction(you just paying for the name).

So my friends had better guitars!!!! LOL considering what i paid 4 it, what it's worth now and the fact that it still very playble(except for some modelsall my friends's have faded away), sounding better than ever........i guess i'm having the last laugh.

U can still buy a brand new EKO for about 40(60 euro) but be carefull of those tear drop scratchplates they come with a microscopic print on the oval label sayng made in china!!!

And if you just thinking of buyng your first guitar or add to your collection why buy a brand new alfa romeo when you can have a second hand maserati at half price???

you won't loose money on that !!!

By the way the pricing are out of date and eko has become an italian brand again!! but dont get your hope too high they're still made in china it just does'nt say so on the label anymore

Ticket Buying on ebay

I think Ebay should only let tickets be sold when they are in hand. I have had so many friends buy tickets beforehand and then have to wait worryingly for so long to receive them, and sometimes not even get them because by then they have lost contact with the seller! If you buy tickets on ebay, buy them when tickets are in hand and are pictured, then you have more of a chance receiving them.

Fix a Dripping Tap or Faucet

If you have a tap that drips or takes excessive tightening to shut off completely, and a new washer hasn't solved the problem, or didn't solve it for long, then it is likely that the valve seat is pitted. With the right tool this is an easy repair - without removing the tap.Turn off the water supplyRemove the tap body (done from above, without removing the whole tap).Select the the right size cutter and bush from the tool kit.Attach the tool to the tap.Resurface the corroded valve seat by rotating the tool.Remove the tool and reassemble the tap with a new washer.Job done - no drip.Detailed instructions - how to use a a tap reseating tool:Inspection:
Turn off the water supply and drain the system.Remove the tap handle. The retaining screw is often hidden under a push fit cap. Unscrew and remove the decorative shield over the tap body. While holding the tap firmly to prevent it turning, unscrew the tap body. An adjustable spanner is suitable for this task. The valve seat can now be seen in the bottom of the hole from which the tap body came. The valve seat should be smooth and uniform. If it is pitted or uneven the tap needs reseating.
Reseating:
From a Reseating Kit select the cutter that is the same size as the taps rubber washer. From the kit select the brass bush that will screw into the top of the tap. Fit the bush and the cutter to the tool handle and screw the tool into the top of the tap.Using moderate downward pressure on the tool handle, rotate it clockwise about quarter to half a turn to make a cut. Do not press too hard.Allow the spring to raise the tool handle then turn it back ready to start another cut.Make just a few cuts then remove the tool to examine progress. If the valve seat has ribbed marks from the cutting tool you are pressing far too hard.Keep going until the valve seat is uniform and all the pitting has been removed. Don't overdo it.Check your progress regularly and stop as soon as the seat is even.Re-assemble the tap with a new rubber washer.
Tips:Put the plug in so you don't lose small parts down the drain!Never allow the whole tap to turn when you are working on it. Doing so could cause a leak or worse, break the pipes below. The tap body is the large brass piece that unscrews from the top of the tap (3)-(4). It contains the rubber washer and all the moving parts of the tap. They are a standard assembly and replacements are readily available to fit just about all taps. They cost just a few Pounds and if replaced when you do the reseating your tap will be mechanically as good as new. Before refitting the body you must retract the piston by setting the tap in the on position. When using grips to hold the tap or remove the decorative shield, protect the surface with a heavy cloth, (a piece of leather is ideal) or several layers of masking tape.If the shield won't move, protect it with a cloth then tap gently around the bottom of it with a small mallet to break away the corrosion that is holding the threads. When working on a downstairs tap turn on the upstairs taps as well to drain the system. If you don't an airlock could hold water in the pipes which could suddenly release at any moment! When you are done run the tap for a few minutes to wash out the system.A tap that drips will quickly erode the valve seat and waste a huge amount of water. The sooner you attend to it the easier it will be to repair - it may only need a new washer if you get to it early.Water is a resource like any other - don't waste it with a dripping tap.

Nasal cleansing with a Neti irrigator

Nasal irrigation with the Neti-irrigator combines western with eastern medicine.

"Neti" means to cleanse the nasal passageway of the breathing system, and this is typically performed using pure saline water. The healing power of salt in dealing with diseases of the breathing system has been known for centuries. The mucous membrane of the nose has an important function of the immune system. It fights off infections by eliminating foreign bodies from the body. When nasal secretion is too viscous, too solidified or too watery, then it is impossible for the mucous membrane to transport the invading particles and microorganisms effectively. Bacteria and viruses can then begin to multiply and eventually create infections and illness.

Irrigation of the nose removes bothersome blockages and congestion, such as experienced during a cold, and relieves breathing.

The mucous membrane will be stimulated and strengthened by regular irrigation. Any unnecessary secretion is washed away. This supports the natural immune system function of the mucous membrane. The delicate connecting channels between the nose and the sinuses will be kept open. This diminishes the possibility for blockages and painful inflammations.

Using a Neti irrigator regularly for health and wellbeing

Nasal irrigation cleanses the mucous membrane of dust and other allergens, such as pollen. The irrigation of the nose, especially for allergic people, is an excellent way to reduce the presence of allergens and to restore the natural response of the immune system.

For some occupations, such as carpentry and others where there is regular exposer to pollution and dust, the irrigation of the nose daily is especially beneficial and will help reduce the intrusion of dust polluted air.

Nasal irrigation loosens dried secretions and helps with a dry mucous membrane. This is especially beneficial when there is regular exposure to heated air and air conditioned rooms or from a sudden change to a hotter climate. Normal secretions which enable the body's natural immune system to rid the body of foreign bodies may become disturbed and the risk of infections greatly increases.

Regular irrigation of the nose is a safe and natural way to support your overall health and wellbeing. Irrigation enables free and easy breathing, increasing vitality and preventing fatigue.

Daily use can become as natural as brushing your teeth, and has proved to be helpful with:

Frequent colds and sore throats; blocked or running noses; inflammation of the sinuses with painful pressure, headaches; Inflammation of the upper respiratory system (sore throat, bronchitis, anginas); hayfever, frequent sneezing and other allergic reactions of the upper respiratory system; dry mucous membranes and impaired breathing; unpleasant smelling secretions from nose and throat; ear blockages; impaired sense of smell.

How to use the Neti Irrigator:

Preparing the salt solution

Add 9g of Dead Sea salt* into a measuring jug and boil a little filtered water. Pour in approximately 200ml, enough to dissolve the salt. Stir using a spoon and allow the salt to be completely dissolved. Top up the hot water with cold pure filtered water, until the temperature is close to body temperature, or just about luke warm. You should have approximately 1 litre of salted water. This is enough for two irrigations, or one irrigation each for two people. Use half the amount of salt and add less water, if only one irrigation is needed.

If you find that the salt causes irritation of the mucous membrane, try using less salt. You may have to experiment until you find what is right for you. Some people may only need a pinch of salt if the nose is particularly sensitive.

* You can use ordinary sea salt if you don't have Dead Sea salt. DO NOT use ordinary table salt which contains additives and chemicals and may cause harm or irritation to your nasal mucous membranes.

Performing irrigation

Follow these seven steps closely:

Rinse out the Neti irrigator and fill it approximately half full with the salted water.

If possible, find out which nostril allows easier breathing.

Put the spout of the Neti irrigator into this nostril.

Bend your head forward over the sink and then tilt it to onside. Open your mouth and breathing through your mouth, tilt the Neti irrigator gently upwards until the water begins to flow out of the bottom nostril. It is important to breathe calmly through the mouth and tilt the Neti irrigator slowly, to avoid water going down the throat. Don't worry if you swallow a bit of water, but try to avoid it.

After the irrigation is complete, straight up and breathe out through both nostrils. Have a paper tissue paper handy so that you can blow your nose and catch any remaining secretions.

Repeat the irrigation with the other nostril, tilting your head to the opposite side this time.

After you have irrigated both nostrils, bring your head forwards and then to the left and then to the right, so thatany remaining fluids can drain. If this does not help, put your hands on your knees to support yourself and let your head hang down and turn it to the left and to the right.

After some practice you will find the irrigation pleasant if you do it daily. In times of concentrated pollen in the air or while experiencing colds or problems with the sinuses, you can perform irrigation several times a day. In that way the nose will always be cleansed and free from secretions. The salt in the water makes the mucous membrane less sore and will support its function as part of the immune system so it is important to use salt when you irrigate.

Keep your irrigator always clean and free of dust, using only filtered water will help prevent any deposits of limescale or calcium.

Health Advice

If you have severely damaged your sinuses, or you have an accute illness or inflammation, it is recommended that you speak to your doctor before attempting to use a Neti irrigator.

a guide for selling books

Books can be tricky things to sell.

By remembering these important points you can maximise your selling price and avoid a bad selling experience.

Check your book. Is it an old library book or is it from a private collection? Most book collectors won't buy old library books as there are usually pages missing, stamps on the pages and the dust jacket is very often attached to the boards. Always state if the book is Ex-Library or NOT-Ex-Library. Both buyer and seller know where they stand.

Find out how much your book is worth. There are many book-search websites available which will tell you how much the books are for sale for in normal book shops. Take into consideration the condition and formatof your book in relation to those described. Hardbacks are usually more expensive than paperbacks. Place your start price accordingly.

Is it already on eBay? How much is it selling for? If there is already multiple copies for sale and no one is bidding for them, don't waste your time (and money) in listing them.

Weigh your book. That way you can put an accurate postage value on the item. Many book collectors take into account the starting (or current) price of the auction AND the postage price when placing a bid. If you are charging 3.00 to post a book worth 50p most book collectors will move on.

Tidy your book up. If it's got an old dust-jacket protector on - take it off and put a new one on. Make the book look as good as you can. Take the best picture you can as this will showcase your book. If the picture is blurred or doesn't show the whole book, buyers will walk away.
